Benachin (Jolloff Rice)

Smiling Coasts speciality is its traditional Benachin, better know as Jolloff Rice. "Bena" meaning one and "Chin" meaning pot is named as it is simply cooked in one pot. This tomato based rice is seasoned to each clients preference and served with a variety of vegetables, meats and/or fish. Simple, yet unbelievable. A truely legendary staple across the west of Africa served as traditionally as the day it began. 
 

Domida (Peanut Stew)

A dish loved by new explorers of West African food and the locals. This`peanut stew is tradtionally served with chunks of meat and vegtables on rice. A dish which is known to turn everyones heads towards the small, smiling coast if Africa. Served with Rice.

Yassa (Onion and Mustard Chicken)

Yassa is extremely popular dish for our clients. This chicken seasoned and cooked with mustard, onions and spices is perfect for those looking for a piece of extremely satisfying meat on their dish. Served with Rice.

Chu (Meat in Tomatoe Sauce)

Chu is a great dish for new comers to African cuisines and for the beef and lamb fans. It is cooked with conions and tomatoes and seasoned with the Gambian love to make it something all members of the family will enjoy. Served with Rice and Vegatables

Supakanja (Okra Stew)

For the more adventerous people we have our teeth licking Okra Stew. Supakanja is cooked with either lamb chunks or Makeral and prawns. A dish that the locals love, and we know you will love to. Served with Rice or Fufu.

Fish Cakes and Spring Rolls

Because you also need something extra on the side, what beats homemade, traditional fish parcels and vegtable or spring rolls. Just incase theirs a little bit of space left.
